This tour is ideal for you if you’re looking for a day of diverse environments in Dubrovnik’s very proximity, and amazing landscape photography opportunities. Get ready for a day of exploration and learning, in a relaxed pace.
The Wild beauty, as Montenegro is called, will reveal green “fjords” to you. We understand it may sound almost impossible, but Montenegro is full of impossibly beautiful combinations.
Verige will be our first stop with a possibility for a coffee break and soaking in amazing sceneries. Perast is close by and we will visit Our Lady of the Rocks – you’ll discover very interesting and powerful legends.
Kotor has an old town a bit smaller than the one in Dubrovnik and it’s breathtaking. The town is situated at Boka Kotorska bay in the foot of tall mountains. Bay of Kotor – Boka kotorska – is one of the largest bays at the Adriatic. Even though many refer to Boka kotorska as to a fjord, it is actually a ria – in translation, a sunken river canyon. No wonder that Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the landscape is so impressive and unique, together with limestone Orjen and Lovćen cliffs.
On the way back to Dubrovnik we will take a ferry across the Boka kotorska bay.
Old tales will be brought to life by a professional licensed local Montenegrin guide. We ensured you have plenty of time for a relaxed tour, to sum up all impressions and scratch this exquisite travel experience off your bucket list.

- We suggest starting the tour early in the morning, ideally around 7 am, in order to avoid waiting at the border for a long amount of time. Please make sure you took your passport with you, that it’s valid, and, if necessary, you have a verified visa. If you have questions about if you personally need a visa for Montenegro, please contact us.
1. We pick you up at your Dubrovnik-city based accommodation
We will pick you up either with a car, mini-van or mini-bus, depending on how many persons there are in your group. Next, we’ll proceed with the drive towards the border. Montenegro is Croatia’s neighboring country, outside of the European Union (Croatia is a part of the EU since 2013) and you will need a valid passport, depending on the country you’re coming from, perhaps a visa as well. These are mandatory documents in order to be admitted to Montenegro. In May, June, July, August and September, visits to Montenegro are the most popular, which means we may be waiting at the border for some time while getting in and out of the country. It’s important for us to leave Dubrovnik early in the morning so we get ahead of the crowds and spend an enjoyable, exciting day in a different country.
2. Perast and Our Lady of the Rock
Once we have crossed the border, the drive will take us along the coastal roads surrounded by high mountains and the beautiful clear blue sea. Before we visit Perast and Our lady of the rocks, an artificial islet created by bulwark of rocks and by sinking old and seized ships loaded with rocks, we’ll stop at a panoramic lay-by Verige which offers an astounding view of Our Lady of The Rock and St George islets.
3. Kotor old town and free time
We will continue our private tour from Perast to the ancient town of Kotor. Your Kotor local guide will take you to visit the famous St. Tryphon Cathedral and the Maritime Museum of Kotor, which preserves the valuable exhibits of old traditions. If you wish, you can walk up the 1,350 steps to the Castle of San Giovanni and enjoy the fantastic view from above. After the old town tour, you have free time to enjoy the city on your own and have lunch.
4. Return to Dubrovnik and your accommodation
After your free time, you will meet your driver and head back towards the border and your accommodation. We will maintain our drive along the scenic coastline and take a short ferry ride across the Boka Kotorska Bay.
Meeting point is your Dubrovnik city-based accommodation.
Dubrovnik city-based pick up and drop off are included in the price.
Please contact us on our phone for information and arrangements. We will need your exact address in order to organize pick up and drop off.
